Karen DeBortoli, B.A., LL.B, KRC Leader | Karen is a lawyer with more than 20 years of experience in pension, benefits, employment and privacy law. She is currently serves as leader of Buck’s Knowledge Research Centre and Canadian Privacy Officer. In this role, she monitors and analyzes legislation, regulations, regulatory materials, and judicial developments impacting pension and benefit plans. She has written many articles on topics affecting the pension and benefits industry and lectured on pension and benefits topics for Osgoode Hall Law School and Humber College.

Tom Mudrinic, FSA, FCIA, Principal and Senior Consulting Actuary | Tom leads the Canadian Wealth practice, overseeing the Retirement and Investment Consulting business in Canada. He has more than 25 years’ experience in the consulting field, as an actuary, senior consultant, and account manager to pension plans of all types and sizes. His consulting experience includes pension risk management and mitigation advice, mergers and acquisitions mandates, union negotiations, supplementary executive retirement plans, and issues of regulatory compliance of all retirement arrangements. He has worked with company board committees, trustee committees, pension and management committees, as well as employee groups on pension-related matters.

Lizann Reitmeier, Director, Health Practice Leader | Lizann leads the Canadian Health practice, advising clients in matters relating to their benefit plans. With more than 30 years in the benefits industry, Lizann has extensive experience in designing and managing benefit plans to support the health and wealth of our clients’ most important asset, their employees.
